    • The Golf

Choose your golf from the following courses, there’s plenty to choose from and don’t forget the wide variety of local food and wines on offer at each of the club houses.

Argenta’s picturesque golf course is located between Ferrara and Ravenna, 40 min from the sea and from Bologna. It is surrounded by the Po Delta regional park, near the Argenta natural reserve Valle Santa. The course is integrated into the surrounding area following its rolling terrain and river banks. Water hazards, low dunes with groves, local essence bushes and six elevated tees make up this varied and challenging course. Designed by Giovanni Trasforini in 1991 the course has hosted Emilia Romagna regional championships, junior and professional tournaments.

Situated in the fabulous Sillaro Valley, surrounded by gently rolling hills. At 6,480 meters and par 72, this course is challenging and entertaining for both experienced players and beginners. The club house has an excellent restaurant serving traditional local food and their hospitality is second to none. In 2006 and 2007 the Le Fonti Golf Club hosted the Qualifying School of the Ladies European Tour and since 2007 it has been accredited as the headquarters of the Ladies Federal Technical Centre.

One of the classic Italian courses, designed by Cotton & Harris and built in 1959, the golf club is situated on splendid rolling countryside with marvellous sweeping panoramic views across the surrounding hills and plains. In recent year, it has hosted the Italian Amateur Championships and a number of top level professional competitions. The elegant clubhouse blends in well with the surrounding countryside and is the ideal place to sample the refined cuisine of the club restaurant, named in the top ten club restaurants in Italy.

Situated near Modena (only 10 km away) and spread over 100 hectares this course was designed by the German champion Bernhard Langer, assisted by the American architect Jim Eng from Colorado.  Home of the Italian Open this is one of the finest courses in Italy, featuring wide greens, smoothly winding fairways, large hungry bunkers and the numerous water hazards. The club also features: a fine gourmet restaurant, where sophisticated and local dishes can be enjoyed, a cosy bar and coffee-shop, two swimming pools, a billiard room and gym.

The Molino del Pero Golf Club is situated deep in the Bolognese Apennines, stretches over 5,450 metres and is overlooked by Lodole Country House on the third hole. A challenging course with wide fairways and small greens it fits snugly into the natural features of the landscape creating a pleasantly rolling course with a variety of slopes for those awkward ball above and below feet shots.
