The 5 Star Ritz-Carlton, Abama
This five star luxury golf resort is set on a cliff top offering panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, near the historic town of Playa San Juan.
The rooms are laid out amongst extensive sub-tropical gardens boasting palm groves, lakes and waterfalls. The exclusive and private surroundings are designed to guarantee visitors a peaceful and relaxing stay, whilst also offering a range of facilities, which includes 7 swimming pools, a beach, a health spa, a golf course, and 13 bars and restaurants.
Look out for the M.B. restaurant, which received its second Michelin Star in 2014 making it one of the premier restaurants on the island. At M.B. guests can enjoy exquisite Spanish cuisine in a luxurious setting. Kabuki has also been awarded a Michelin Star and is the hotel’s Japanese restaurant.
The restaurant is run by Spanish chef Ricardo Sanz and is decorated in a stylish colour palette of red and white. Other restaurants to enjoy include; El Mirador, which specialises in locally sourced seafood, the Argentinean restaurant Pampa and the hotel’s traditional Italian named Verona. Offering more than 20 different grape varieties and excellent food, the Tapas & Wine Bar is also worth a visit.
Situated on the beach facing La Gomera, the Beach Club is the perfect place to enjoy a spot of lunch and to soak up the afternoon sun. Other suitable locations include – Los Chozos, for Canary Island specialties and La Casa Club, which is situated in the heart of the golf course.
